  • Skills & Improv

    July 4th & 25th

    Groove Cello Skills w Daniel Delaney. Workout, guided practice, guided improvisation over backing tracks, chops & chords, hooks & more.

    FOCUS: Improvisation, chords & backups, rhythm

  • Tunes & Backups

    July 10th & 20th

    Prep a Tune for a Jam Session. Melody tutorial, backups, jammables, harmonies, soloing, styles.

    FOCUS: Comprehensive knowledge of one tune. Be ready to play it with anybody.

  • Jam session

    July 25th

    Our “Last Night” jam session is a zoom party to celebrate and welcome all of our new members. Play along with Daniel and backing tracks; tune list published in advance. Pre-jam meet and greet; post-jam hang.

    All members (new and old) have access to the Tunes Library for practice resources, previous lessons, and backing tracks! All are welcome!

    Drop by the (zoom) office to get practice tips, ask Daniel questions, play something for feedback, listen to others’ questions, enjoy the vibe, drink coffee.

    These are classic group classes of the Groove Cello Academy. You’ll be joining our student-members as well as others who are considering joining. Members also enjoy access to replays and backing tracks.

    These workshops present the perfect moment to gain a sense for the people, the voice, the atmosphere, the teacher.

    Your teacher is Daniel Delaney, groove cellist, passionate and veteran teacher, recovering classical musician, girl dad, husband, lover of sarcasm and absurdity, coffee enthusiast.

    Your new community is a cohort of cellists from accomplished amateurs to performing professionals to teachers. They are no slouches. They are culture shapers and askers of hard questions. They are making real and dramatic change in their musical lives.
